Sunflower Seeding it Forward

Here are Instructions for growing organic heirloom sunflower seeds...   for those who received an envelope of my sunflower seeds in April 2014 --> Year Zero of my initiative "Seeding it Forward"... These mammoth flowers reach over ten feet so they are great for corners and edging (or for a living privacy fence) 1. Before starting the organic heirloom sunflower seeds, you may opt to Soak the seeds in clean water for 12-24 hrs. Sow them in the sunniest spot possible (in containers or south-facing beds) * 2. Get them to sprout before the birds eat them! (covering them with hay/soil/bird mesh helps) 3. Healthy soil enriched with organic worm castings are the best nutrients / Water as needed. 4. Enjoy birdwatching all the bird couples land on the flower-heads 5. Photograph the beautiful sunflower heads (and send them to @omnispo)! 6.
