Whether in the rain or sunshine! Start and plant them NOW! The sooner the seed sprouts roots into the soil to become a seedling, the more fruits, nuts & seeds will be yielded by Your "CroPlanTree"! Stop & Seize the present moment of NOW to sow the seeds of your dreams in sunny soil! Carpe Semilla! (Seize the Seed!) One spark alights thousands of flames. May both Your Actual Plant Seeds and Your Metaphorical Seeds Spark the Surge of In-spiring Solar Futures!

I selected the most superior seeds for sending to people in Seeding it Forward 2014. The smaller and darker sunflower seeds are cappuccino colored sunflowers (different colors than standard sunflowers) the big white and stripped seeds are Russian mammoth variety.  I bury the seeds with 1-3 inches soil, then I water them deeply, then I make a pile of worm castings and dolomite lime (Calcium + Magnesium) and azomite rock dust, optionally cover the piles with dead leaves for further protection from hungry squirrds ... Growing in raised beds made of concrete slabs is a great idea, and for growing on your patio, containers/planters (use light easy draining organic soil) is easiest especially since they fun to reposition them as you wish. Here are Instructions for growing organic heirloom sunflower seeds...   for those who received an envelope of my sunflower seeds in April 2014 --> Year Zero of my initiative "Seeding it Forward"... These mammoth flowers reach over ten feet so they are great for corners and edging (or for a living privacy fence) 1. Before starting the organic heirloom sunflower seeds, you may opt to Soak the seeds in clean water for 12-24 hrs. Sow them in the sunniest spot possible (in containers or south-facing beds) * 2. Get them to sprout before the birds eat them! (covering them with hay/soil/bird mesh helps) 3. Healthy soil enriched with organic worm castings are the best nutrients / Water as needed. 4.
